Frequently Asked Questions
Clear answers to the questions we're asked most. If yours isn't here, just ask Adam.
Can you repair Tesla vehicles after an accident?
We work on Tesla post-crash electrical problems such as starting faults, warning messages, safety-system faults and pyrofuse-related issues. Every car is assessed individually first, so we can tell you honestly what we can help with.
Do you work on Audi and VW crash-related faults?
Yes. Audi and Volkswagen post-crash electrical faults, including SRS/airbag warnings, module problems and warning lights, are a core part of what we do.
What is a pyrofuse?
A pyrofuse is a safety device that quickly disconnects a high-current electrical circuit when the vehicle detects a serious event such as a crash. When it has operated, the vehicle usually won't drive until the cause is properly assessed and appropriately repaired.
Why won't my EV start after a crash?
Common reasons include a safety device such as a pyrofuse operating, damaged wiring or connectors, modules that have recorded a crash event, or faults in the high-voltage system. It needs a proper diagnosis — please don't try to investigate high-voltage parts yourself.
Can you help if the vehicle has an airbag or SRS warning?
Yes. We diagnose why the warning is on and carry out appropriate repair, including module work where technically appropriate after the faulty parts are put right.
Can you inspect a damaged vehicle before I buy it?
Get in touch with the vehicle details and photos. Where we can, we'll help you understand the likely electrical issues before you commit.
Do I need to bring the vehicle to you?
Start by sending details and photos. Adam will then explain whether the vehicle needs to come to us and what the next step looks like.
Can I send photos first?
Yes, and it's the best way to start. Send photos of the outside, the damaged area, the dashboard and any warning messages by WhatsApp or the online form.
What vehicle information do you need?
Make, model, year and registration, plus a short description of what happened. A VIN, any previous diagnostic reports and photos all help.
Can you diagnose an electrical fault after an accident?
Yes. Post-crash electrical diagnosis is a specialist area for us.
Do you repair control modules?
We carry out control-module diagnosis, repair and programming where technically appropriate. Not every module or fault is suitable, and we'll explain that clearly.
How long does an assessment take?
It depends on the vehicle and the fault. Once we've seen your details we'll give you a realistic idea of timescales and keep you informed.
Do you provide quotations before carrying out repairs?
We explain what we've found and agree the work with you before carrying it out. [Confirm your quotation policy here.]
Can you repair every EV?
No. Not every vehicle or fault is suitable for every repair. We assess each vehicle individually and explain what we can realistically help with.
Do you remove or hide accident history?
No. WE FIX EV does not alter or conceal a vehicle's insurance, salvage or official accident history. Our work relates to the technical repair and restoration of vehicle systems where appropriate.
Still have a question?
Send us the details and we'll give you a straight answer.
