Sound familiar?
- Airbag or SRS light still on after an accident
- Several warning lights at once on the dashboard
- Car won't start or cranks but won't run
- A garage has said a control module needs replacing or coding
- Electrical features stopped working after the impact
Common post-crash electrical problems on Audis
In a collision, the airbag control module records that an event happened and may need specialist attention before the SRS system will work normally again. Damaged connectors or harnesses in the impact zone can also cause faults that appear unrelated, such as lights, sensors or comfort features.
Because modules share information across the vehicle network, one damaged component can produce a chain of fault codes. Reading codes alone rarely tells the full story.
How we approach an Audi
We start by finding out what actually happened and what the car is reporting. From there we check wiring, connectors and modules in a logical order, and explain what we find before suggesting any work.
- Airbag / SRS fault diagnosis
- Electrical fault tracing after accident damage
- Control-module problems and programming where technically appropriate
- Warning-light diagnosis
- Starting problems
What to do next if your Audi has been involved in an accident
- 01 Make a note of every warning light or message on the dash.
- 02 Take photos of the impact area and any deployed airbags.
- 03 Find any previous diagnostic reports or repair invoices.
- 04 Send it all to us and we'll explain the likely next step.
