Ask the right questions
Where was the impact? Did airbags deploy? Does the car wake up and show alerts? Has a pyrofuse operated? Is there any battery or underside damage?
Get photos and data
Ask for clear photos of the damage, the touchscreen alerts and the VIN. Send them to a specialist for an opinion before you commit.
Know the history
Check the vehicle's official history and salvage category. Repair work never changes that history, and you should always know it.
