Advice

Why won't my Tesla start after a crash?

The common reasons a Tesla won't wake up or drive after collision damage.

Common causes

After an impact, a Tesla may refuse to drive because a safety device has operated, a module has recorded a crash event, wiring or connectors in the impact zone are damaged, or the 12V/low-voltage supply has been disrupted.

Why it's hard to guess

The touchscreen alerts point you in a direction, but they rarely tell the whole story. Several faults can stack up from one root cause.

Next step

Photograph the alerts and damage, avoid repeated attempts to force it to drive, and send the details for an assessment.
