An emergency disconnect
A pyrofuse uses a small charge to break a high-current electrical connection in a fraction of a second. It's triggered by the vehicle when it detects a serious event such as a collision.
Why it exists
Isolating power after a crash reduces the risk to occupants and anyone helping at the scene. It's a deliberate safety feature.
If yours has operated
The vehicle usually won't drive. The right next step is a proper diagnosis of why it operated and what else was affected, followed by appropriate repair. It should never be bypassed or defeated.
